Broker's Comments
It’s easy to see why the Westerly Konsort is such a popular boat. Over 700 were made over a 12 year period and, with a very loyal following, many of their owners have never chosen to swap them for anything else. The owner of this example has carried out extensive repairs and upgrades making it the smartest Konsort that I have seen. The owners reason for sale is a return to the speed of power for his love of fishing.
Seaworthy and able to cope with heavy weather, the spacious and uncluttered cockpit has high combings to keep you safe, a mainsheet traveller fitted to the transom to keep it clear / easy to reach and most of the lines lead aft to the cockpit for ease when sailing short handed. The bilge keel enables you to explore creeks and rivers whilst the decks are wide and easy to move around.
Beamier than their predecessors, these 29ft boats offer a surprising amount of living space. They offer one of the largest interiors for this size / era & all finished in classic wood. The head-linings and upholstery have been replaced throughout. The windows / port holes have all been removed and resealed. The interior is dry and headroom is good.
This would be a safe boat to make a start in and one that you will probably want to keep hold of for a long time. Safe, strong, comfortable with good sailing performance, what more do you want?
