Broker's Comments
With over 200 years of boat building experience Camper Nicholson have developed a well renowned reputation within the marine industry. Over the years they have developed a fleet of differing designs, arguable none more successful than the Nicholson 35.
A well balanced, mid size ocean going cruiser, the Nicholson 35 packs all the components of basic yacht layout—forecabin, saloon, head, galley, chart table and quarter berth—into 35 feet with enough room left for a decent-sized cockpit. The boat is renowned for good tracking and quick response attributed to a low-aspect fin keel with a large, spade rudder mounted on a full-length skeg. These boats have developed a reputation for safe and comfortable heavy weather sailing. No wonder then, they are a popular choice for family days at sea or adventures planed further afield.
Sadly this particular boat has been inactive for a period and needs some attention to counter her neglect. Following my viewing I conclude there is a decent amount of work required to see her return to former glory. The cockpit seats/locker tops are rotten, there is a mix of oil and water in the bilges, the decks have lost all non skid and the whole boat needs a thorough clean. I have not witnessed the engine start or run, this is not to say it doesn't. Once able to see past the neglect there is clearly a beautiful, well built yacht here, far from derelict state. A project yes, but not the biggest I've seen by any stretch.
Please note, we have been instructed by the marina to sell this boat due to the absence of the owner. For this reason, details of the vessel may not be as comprehensive as usual.
