Broker's Comments
The Moody 33 MK1 is a solid, centre cockpit yacht built of GRP construction, designed for comfortable open water cruising.
Impressive features include large, safe cockpit with ample room for both sailing and relaxing while berthed or anchored. The size of the cockpit affords excellent access to the engine, housed directly beneath.
The deceptively spacious aft cabin offers twin single berths and ample stowage, easy access is provided from the cockpit via companionway.
The saloon offers multiple seating options around large central table, which easily converts to form a comfortable double.
Defining characteristics of these boats are their sea-kindliness- the seller recalls feeling safe, comfortable and completely at ease while crossing the Irish sea in a force 7. The spacious layout is ideally suited for families or couples, the aft cabin provides complete privacy and gives the boat a much larger overall feel.
The current engine was installed in 2009, I have witnessed the engine start from cold following a period of inactivity. The engine fired, first turn of the key and ran like a Swiss watch.
There are some minor areas of improvement required as one may expect from a boat built in the 70's. If space, comfort and the ability to tackle sensible passages appeals this Moody 33 is definitely worth a closer look. Overall, a well found yacht.
