Broker's Comments
It is an intangible feeling, but, when you step aboard a traditonally built wooden boat it feels good. When you go to sea on a wooden boat, the sounds and movements of the boat are, once again, unique and special to wood, there is a kind of harmony.
That aside, many people will never consider owning a wooden boat, however, I believe that this little ship is worthy of questioning that view.
She is a little bit special, built in 1980 by a highly reputable yard, to Lloyds 100A1 specification. Iroko (carvel) on oak frames, and teak decks.
The engine is original, and despite its older appearance, it has been remarkably maintained. There are comprehensive records of everything that has been spent on this boat over the years, including surveys in 2000 and 2005.
The current Owners lived aboard and cruised her for over five years and she really does feel like home below decks with her traditional and restored Taylors paraffin cooker and multi fuel stove.
Her shoal draft and lifting (long) keel configuration make her very much a "go anywhere" vessel, equally well suited to creek crawling or ocean crossing.
The hull has been stripped back to bare wood and re painted and the keel bolts have been withdrawn, protected and replaced.
If there is a little bit of you that is attracted to a wooden boat, you should take a look at this one for sure.
