The McGregor 26M claims to be one of the best handling and fastest trailerable cruising sailboats on the market. They are certainly one of the best sellers and with good reason.
This one, which has been well looked after and maintained to a high standard, has recently returned from Spain. Equally happy under sail or power, she is very versatile, fun to use, easy to tow, launch and recover.
For sailing, the main is fitted onto a rotating mast, which helps to give perfect airflow across the mainsail enabling her to sail faster and heel less. This, along with her furling Genoa, adjustable buoyancy and deep V'd planing hull, give her a good rate of speed. Her fully removable daggerboard allows her to float in just 12 inches of water, making inland exploring and beach landings easy. The mast, which is easy to raise and lower by one person, even underway, completes this versatility.
For power she is equipped with a 50hp outboard that can zap you about at over 20 knots to get you to & from your favourite sailing or fishing destinations rapidly, and even allows you to tow skiers and wakeboards.
With something to please everyone, she's a great all rounder for family and friends.
