Broker's Comments
The Arpege was considered to be innovative, if not radical, in it's heyday. The design was impressive and over 1500 were manufactured, making it a great Dufour success. Surviving the test of time well, the Dufour Arpege is still much sought after, especially for those looking for practicality and sailing performance.
Small, fast and capable offshore, these cruisers are said to be particularly at home in challenging conditions.
This particular example, which has completed the AZAB offshore race, has had some serious improvements carried out recently and is only being sold due to the owners new work commitments abroad.
New standing and running rigging, (including a mast), has been fitted along with a new Nanni engine in 2018 (with about 10 hours on the clock), new batteries and new, modern B&G Nav equipment.
Yes, she needs a tidy up in some places, the hull needs a good scrub and a few bits of the new equipment are yet to be fitted, such as the new B&G VHF DSC, however, I'd say that all the big expensive tasks are already covered. The lines lead aft for short handed sailing and there is even a folding storage cradle included, which will certainly help to keep yard costs down.
