Broker's Comments
Although the hull was moulded in 1979 this boat was not commissioned and launched until 1991. She had a couple of owners before the current one, who is a marine professional involved with all types of large commercial vessels. He has acquired a second, larger, motor sailer which he is now concentrating on, hence this sale.
The decks need pressure washing and the pilot house doors need re-varnishing. As a motor sailor it is not surprising that the sails show little signs of wear.
The helm position in the spacious pilot house is impressive, with good all round visibility and a plethora of aids to navigation. The electrics look tidy.
The galley is basic and the heads features a traditional Blakes WC which a new owner may wish to replace with a Jabsco or suchlike.
The accommodation is cavernous compared with sailing yachts of comparable size and there is a lot of storage.
The powerful 36hp Thornycroft engine started easily from cold and should push this boat along at 6 knots or more.
So if you like to sail with protection from wet and windy weather a powerful motor sailer like this could fit the bill, and still offer enough opportunities for custom modernisation.
